With the interim show over the next step is to prepare for the next phase being the degree show and further development of our portfolios. With this in mind a new idea was needed for the show, when having group discussions we were trying to find a way continue the creative chapters theme however we were finding it more difficult trying to carry it over. Rather than continuing it I had the idea to evolve it; our previous brand identity and logo included both a book and a IPad/tablet so the next chapter for us is us in a sense. Just like how technology has developed and evolved so have we and this evolution of our theme is almost a metaphor to portray this and a way of reinforcing how we are the future for the creative industries. In order to change our theme without disrupting the flow it needs to be done subtly. Ideas that were being discussed was the focus on technological development, going from the 'old world' of Worcester Cathedral and the creative chapters to a modern and futuristic experience that could influence the future of the creative industry as way as path our way into the new and ever changing industries.
New theme Ideas:
"The RGB color system is one of the most well-known color systems in the world, and perhaps the most ubiquitous. As an additive color system, it combines red, green, and blue light to create the colors we see on our TV screens, computer monitors, and smartphones" (nix color sensor, 2022) With RGB being so widely used in technology and all through its development we saw it as a perfect opportunity to use it as a transition from Creative Chapters to our new title and next professional journey. How we were going to use this colour system was the question we as a group needed to discuss and find a solution for.

Ideas I had to develop the initial starting point of RGB:

After further discussion and research I came up with some more ideas including a mood board to develop a theme I think will work.
More names for the show:
Gradually Pixeled
The final pixel
The real edit
From the pixel
From pixel to us/From us to pixel
Mood board:

Ideas the group had to develop RGB:
The group discussion presented many ideas we could work with including; name ideas, developing concepts and themes and ways to use them as well as additions to the event that could engage the audience. As RGB colour scheme we thought of using the anagram as a potential title for the show.
R- Real, Recording, Reveal, Resourceful, Revolutionizing
G- Graphics, Graduates, Guide, Groundbreaking, Generation, Genuine, Growth
B- Block, Box, Bold, Brilliant, Brain, Belonging, Breakthrough, Becoming
We also discussed other potential themes that we could use that wouldn't limit our creativity or could give us more room to develop and potential for this show; going back to the TV test card and going for a more retro and pixilated feel especially for our social media promotions. Other ideas included anti-design, disruptive design (a name I thought of for this idea was disruptive solutions) as well as infrared cameras and playing with that colour scheme as well as trying to play with more futuristic concepts.
Our chosen idea and theme for the new theme:
After deep discussion we as a group decided that we will go with the theme of retro and use the TV test card heavily throughout our work (for example as the colour scheme and social media promotion). The concept of retro technology and its use of pixilation is something we are going to use to bridge our previous show to this one so we decided our name would be CREATIVE PIXELS; to incorporate our last title we carried over the creative and the pixels is to make it relevant to our new theme. Within this discussion we also talked about locations a couple that came up involved spaces within the university itself as well as a couple of bars in the city that would fit the theme; after looking at locations collectively as a group agreed on the same space however before we can make plans and directly link our ideas to that space we need to make sure that it is available for the times that the show is running. Making sure the space will be available will be the next step along with creating our individual ideas for our own space; this is something that will need to be heavily considered in terms of what the space and the theme can allow which is why is important we sort it out earlier on.
