Finding poets that use similar mediums was interesting; it was interesting to see how they use visuals to accompany the poetry. For me personally poetry is all about the power words can have, however, I also question whether visuals can add impact or meaning for which I hope my own work or this research would answer. Something I noticed is that a lot of the visuals actually use the words as part of it; examples below use words to create shapes which act as a visual.

Sarah J. Sloat: "The Wreck" from Sixth Finch

An example slightly more similar to the work I did is poet Rupi Kaur, female poet who brings attention to women through out her poetry as well as this she also uses visuals to accompany some of her poetry. Typically simple line drawings accompany the poetry still allowing the actual words to have significance.
